Quicktip 3 – Quick remove white background without any tool

Before starting to work on an image composition, you need to know if the stock images that you have fit in terms of light, angle etc. Using the layer styles window you can change the blending behaviour of the image and remove white and black backgrounds non-destructively. See how quick this is.

Photoshop Cutout Tools: Pen Tool, Refine Edge, Quick Selection…

In this beginners tutorial I will show you the most used techniques for cutting and extracting subjects from the background using Photoshop.
For solid color backgrouds it’s best to use the smart selection tools (Magic Wand and Quick Selection) but using them will usually requite to also use the Refine Edge in order to get perfectly sharp edges.
